A gallery of landscapes, portraits, still life's, figurative work and projects produced by the artist Richard Diggle. Some have thematic origins and are painted in series some are from direct contact with the visual and sensory world. Literary material, graphic and photographic images or direct observation in the studio or on travels provide starting points.

Expression as opposed to the imitation of appearances is a primary feature. Light and two dimensional structures are key elements in the meaning and intention of the work. The visual world is used both like a dictionary and like a dynamic living experience. Outcomes are mixed media, oil colour, watercolour, pastel or charcoal.
